Hogan Sayer Dominy

Hogan Sayer Dominy
4/2/2010 - 4/18/2010

Dear Friends,

Hogan fought an amazing fight for the past two weeks. He honored God with every breath he took and changed our lives forever. He passed away early this morning in our arms. Our hearts are heavy with love for him. We will continue to focus on the point and thank God for allowing us this special time. He was and is a miracle. Thank you all for loving on us and him. Hogan was God's little warrior with a huge heart. He has no problems now. He has a new body. We would love your continued prayers. We love all of you for joining Hogan on his journey. I could tell how bright his eyes got when I would tell him about the messages that were sent to him. Thank God for his little life and the impact that he made on this world.

In His Love,
Kip

  2. Dear Angie and Kip and family ....
I woke up thinking of Hogan .... last night I prayed hard for you all, and for Hogan, that he would not be afraid ... really, can anyone be afraid when you lie in the arms of Jesus? No. Hogan can now SEE and hear the things we have only DREAMED of! Praise be to our God for preparing HEAVEN for our sweet loved ones.

As you rejoice, as you grieve, as you weep, as you laugh, as you pray .... remember that we are praying for you, and thinking of you often. I am amazed by Hogan's life and by YOUR LIVES with Hogan. You brought praise to God in every turn of Hogan's life....through this blog. THANK YOU. I am thankful for the Kip Dominy family, and to "know" Hogan. :)

From Isaiah ... some of my very favorite verses -
    ISAIAH 61: 1-3
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
because the Lord has anointed Me
    to preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison
    to those who are bound;
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
    and the day of vengeance of our God;
    to comfort all who mourn,
to console those who mourn in Zion,
to give them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
    the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they may be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."

That HE may be glorified ... Hogan was a darling 3 lbs, with one ear and a very big heart with Trisomy 18. That HE may be glorified, Hogan entered into the mansions of the Lord this morning, and out of this land. That HE may be glorified ... Hogan lived for two amazing weeks.

Let all this pour over your souls as you go about today.
    With much love ....

  4. We will be praying for your family. We got a call that my husband's stepfather had died earlier this morning. He was 101 years old. But in two weeks time I know that Hogan could not have gotten any more love than he had. And I will always rememember his little eyes. Thanks for sharing your story. It meant so much to me and many, many more. We know he is at peace in a beautiful place.

  5. My heart is heavy this morning, but Hogan is home with Jesus and there is so much joy in Heaven and I hope that this comforts your family in the days and weeks to come. Hogan taught us love and determination in the short time he was here, and his legacy will live on through that. I will continue to pray for your sweet, sweet family!

  15. Kip, Angie & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained a special little angel. I can't imagine the heartache you are going through but know that you are all loved so much and many prayers are being said for you. Thank you for touching my life with Hogan's Story. God will give you strength beyond what you ever thought possible. Here is a little poem that I had read before when I had to do some printing for a family that had lost a child. You may have already read it but I thought it was worth posting...

    HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD

A meeting was held quite far from earth.
"It's time again for another birth,"
Said the Angels to the Lord above,
"This special child will need much love.

His progress may seem very slow
    Accomplishments he may not show
    And he'll require extra care
From the folks he meets way down there.

He may not run or laugh or play
His thoughts may seem quite far away
In many ways he won't adapt,
And he'll be known as handicapped.

So let's be careful where he's sent
We want his life to be content.
Please, Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for You.

They will not realize right away
The leading role they're asked to play
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.

And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for this gift from Heaven
Their precious charge, so meek and mild
    Is Heaven's very special child."

  16. I do not know where to start. I am a different person because of your little hero, Hogan Dominy!!!! He was the most amazing little boy. Kip and Angie, I can not say that I know you feel because I have no idea. My heart is heavy and Katie and Heather are sad for you too. One the bright side, Hogan is not sick or suffering. He is in Heaven waiting on yall now. Treasure the short time that you had. I love you all and I am praying for each of you. Hogan is looking down from Heaven saying, God loves me and he is taking good care of me. That should give you some peace....no more suffering and not more pain. God is so good.
    I love you all,
    Linda

  17. Heaven has one more angel today. I know that Hogan is sitting in Jesus' lap with no pain or fear. Know that you will see him again and that he will always watch over your family until then. Thank you for letting us follow your journey. We will miss Hogan's sweet, peaceful little face that we checked on each morning and night. My son- 4 yrs old- prayed last night "I pray for the little baby that is going to get to go to Heaven." He is right, Hogan got to go to Heaven early and experience all the joys of Jesus. We will continue to pray for your family and keep you on our prayer list at church. Laura

  20. Angie and Kip, Our hearts are breaking and rejoicing with you today. Our Sunday morning message reminded Jens and I of how we are ALL spirtual beings having a temporary human experience. Hogan's 15 day journey had a larger impact spiritually than most of us will leave from our lifetime. What a miracle God has shared wi...th you (and us) through Hogan. A love beyond any words. A spiritual impact beyond our imaginations. Today, Hogan sits in the lap of Jesus, fully whole and completed. As he crawled into His lap, he heard His Father saying "WELL DONE HOGAN!"
God is a God who always gives more... He gives beyond measure. His grace is and will be sufficient.... but it will take time to see it more clearly. We stand in the gap for you today, lifting you to the Father for the Joy and Peace that only He can give. God chose YOU to be Hogan's parents... He knew you would trust Him. And you have. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey. So much love and prayers, Cindy and Jens

  25. Praise God for the life of Hogan Dominy! Hogan has been and will continue to be an inspiration to so many. He has spread the word of God and touched more lives in two weeks than most of us will do in fifty years. What a blessing it was to me and my family to be able to "know" him! I can't wait to meet him in heaven and tell him what an impact he had on my life. Thank you Kip and Angie for sharing your life with me. My heart is heavy for the loss you are now faced with. You will continue to be in my prayers. Hold tight to your special memories with him here on Earth and know that you will hold that precious baby again one day!

  27. Kip & Family- On my way to church this morning I was thinking of Hogan & sang a song for him that was sung at my first husband's funeral 5 years ago. I just wanted to share the lyrics because they just seem so fitting. Praying for all of you & that Noah & Lily will be able to understand how brave & courageous their little brother was.

    WITH HOPE- Steven Curtis Chapman

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
    We had so many dreams
    And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
    And nothing we can say
    And nothing we can do
    Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

    We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
    'Cause we believe with hope
    (There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
    We'll see your face again

    And never have I known
    Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
    The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
    And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
    'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
    'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

So we can cry with hope
    And say goodbye with hope

    We wait with hope
    And we ache with hope
    We hold on with hope
    We let go with hope

    All our love & prayers-

  34. Dear Kip and Dominy Family

I came across your story researching after GOP Candidate Rick Santorum's daughter has been on the news. Praise the Lord for Hogan's life and his impact on so many people. Thank you for sharing you story so that we may learn. You are helping families heal who have also suffered this loss. I'm sure a day doesn't pass by that you think about your little boy. I pray for your comfort and peace and may you and your family continue to do great things. In Jesus name.
